Harris Rosen, Orlando’s largest independent hotel operator and well known philanthropist, was honored by the YMCA of Central Florida with the renaming of the aquatic center on International Drive to the Rosen YMCA Aquatic Center. Mr. Rosen, an avid swimmer, has been instrumental in preserving and maintaining the facility so that the community has a place to participate in aquatic activities. Olympic champion and aquatic center vice president Rowdy Gaines has a long term strategy of making the facility not only a favorite for the local community, but also as a venue for national and international competitions that will draw in thousands of visitors and generate revenue for the Orlando economy.
